An alleged Landing Mark at Tooligie Hill, Australia.

Landing marks are areas of burned ground or depressed vegetation, usually circular in shape, where UFOs are purported to have landed. Hundreds of such marks have been reported all around the globe. Some of these, however, have been attributed to a fungus which grows in a pattern known as a fairy ring. Areas of swirled, swampy vegetation which have been found primarily in Australia are known as UFO nests.

Some circular landing marks contain three or four depressions allegedly made by landing pads. In some cases, only the alleged landing pad marks are present, as in the Socorro, New Mexico, landing.
